We at The Company Theatre would like to extend a warm welcome to individuals of all races, all ethnicities, all gender identities, and abilities to audition. We believe that the arts should be a reflection of the diverse world we live in, and we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all performers. We encourage actors of all backgrounds and levels of experience to come and audition. So whether you’re a seasoned actor or new to the stage, we welcome you!

KINKY BOOTS AUDITION AND SHOW INFORMATION

Auditions: Sunday, May 19 at 1:00 pm

Callbacks: Monday, May 20 at 6:30 pm

Rehearsals: Monday & Thursday - 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Sunday - 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm starting Thursday, May 23

Performances: July 26–August 18 (Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 pm, Sundays at 3:00 pm)

What To Prepare

Please prepare 16 - 32 bars (less than a minute) of a song from the show, or in a similar style to sing for your audition. If you sing something that's not in the show, bring a copy of your sheet music for the accompanist with the starting/stopping points clearly marked.

There will be a dance call. Wear clothes you can comfortably move in.

You do not need to bring a resume or head shot with you. Please be sure to fill out the
online audition form in advance.

Show Description

Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father's shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father's legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair find that they have more in common than they realized... and discover that when you change your mind, you can change your whole world.

Character Breakdown - All Roles Are Available

?CHARLIE PRICE - A bit confused, a bit unfocused, a hero hiding under a victim's mantle. Male, Age: 25 to 35.

YOUNG CHARLIE - Charlie as a seven year old boy. Lost, quiet, reflective. Male, Age: 7.

?LOLA/SIMON - A prize fighter's physique draped in satin. A talented drag queen with a killer voice and winning ways. Male, Age: 30 to 35.

?YOUNG LOLA/SIMON - Lola as a ten year old boy who already knows he's destined to wear high heels. Male, Age: 10.

?NICOLA - Charlie's long-term girlfriend. Driven, uncompromising. Female, Age: 20 to 30.

?LAUREN - Beautiful and strong working class girl. Female, Age: 20 to 30.

?DON - Lola's nemesis. Burly hypermasculine bear of a factory worker. Sings up to D5 for the finale. Male, Age: 20 to 40.

?PAT - Officious office manager who will let loose her wild side when allowed. Lola's love interest. Female, Age: 20 to 40.

TRISH - Factory worker with a husband and kids to worry over. Female, Age: 20 to 40.

?GEORGE - Factory manager keeping up traditions. Reserved. Male, Age: 30 to 50.

?THE ANGELS - The drag performers who populate The Blue Angel Nightclub. Male, Age: 20 to 30.

?MR.PRICE - Charlie's father. Male, Age: 50 to 80.

?SIMON SR. - Lola's father. An unforgiving tower of anger. Male, Age: 30 to 50.

?HARRY - A contemporary of Charlie's but his opposite. Successful, self aware and confident. Male, Age: 25 to 40.

?RICHARD BAILEY - Nicola's boss. An overtly attractive and successful man. Male, Age: 30 to 50.
