CPCC Theatre auditions for August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone have been rescheduled for Thursday Feb 19th and Friday February 20th at 7:00pm in the Overcash Rehearsal Hall OC 300.
We are seeking 6 men and 5 women for characters aged 20 -60+.
Set in a black boardinghouse in Pittsburgh in 1911, this drama by the author of The Piano Lesson, Seven Guitars and Fences is an installment in the author’s series chronicling black life in each decade of this century. Each denizen of the boardinghouse has a different relationship to a past of slavery as well as to the urban present. They include the proprietors, an eccentric clairvoyant with a penchant for old country voodoo, a young homeboy up from the South and a mysterious stranger who is searching for his wife.

No preparation necessary. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. You do not have to be a current CPCC student to participate. College credit is available to those who qualify. Rehearsals beginFebruary 23rd. Rehearsals Monday - Thursday 7 - 10pm. Performances April 10 -19, 2015.
