Auditions will be held at Bay City Players, 1214 Columbus Ave., Bay City, MI 48708.

We are looking for women and men ages 18 and up to fill principal and ensemble roles. Please be prepared to sing a song of your choice, preferably in the same style as JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (rock opera), but not from the show. You may sing as much or as little as you'd like. Be sure to choose music that best displays your vocal range and features your strengths! An accompanist will be provided. Please bring clearly marked, legible music. You may also sing a cappella if desired.
It began as a record album and became a cultural phenomenon after its Broadway opening in 1971 as a rock opera. JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR musically takes the last days of Jesus with His disciples in Jerusalem to His crucifixion. The music is a mix going from tender emotions (“I Don’t Know How to Love Him”), to sassy arrogance (“King Herod’s Song”), to thrilling acclamations. Superstar is touching, disturbing, and a totally involving theatre experience about Jesus’ struggles with the politics and people of His time, but with a bent toward modern audiences and contemporary feelings. Superstar is another special summer production giving Players’ audiences and performers an out-of-the-ordinary theatrical experience.
Auditions are open to the public and newcomers are welcome.
