Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, announces auditions for the upcoming production of I Wanna Fucking Tear You Apart, written by Morgan Gould and directed by Jessica Fisch. Since 1994 Rivendell has sought to advance the lives of women through the power of theatre.
Character Breakdown:
• Samantha: (Female, 29-35, White) Novelist. Best-friends/roommates/co- dependent with Leo. Blunt, funny, successful, casual. Keen observer of the world and others. Knows how to land a one liner. From the playwright: “She’s fat-fat, not just TV fat.”
• Leo: (Male, 29-35, Person of Color) Gay poet/short story writer struggling to find the discipline to work. Best-friends/roommates/co-dependent with Sam. Funny, very sensitive, social butterfly. He makes friends easily and can adapt to different situations.
From the playwright: “For what it’s worth, he knows every single word to the theme song for The Golden Girls.”
About I Wanna Fucking Tear You Apart:
An unconventional love story between a fat woman and her gay best friend. Sam and Leo have been best friends and roommates since college, but at 30, co-dependence is looking a lot less cute.
Schedule:
As per the AEA contract, there will be two consecutive days off with 25 hours per week rehearsal. There will be morning or afternoon weekday rehearsals scheduled so please note your daytime availability.
• Rehearsals begin week of January 14th and the show runs until March 23.
