HUMANITY'S CHILD - New York Theatre TBD

DESCRIPTION: Composer and Educator Dr. John McDonnell Tierney invites aspiring musical theater performers ages 18-25 and actors aged 30+ to apply for the 2019 Tierney Ensemble. The 2019 Ensemble will perform HUMANITY’S CHILD [www.humanityschild.com], at festivals, competitions, “backer’s auditions” in New York City and other venues. Participants will work under the close mentorship of Dr. Tierney and the show’s directorial staff gaining skills and experiences crucial in career development.

COMPENSATION: It is the intention and goal of this mentorship program that participants will benefit principally though experience, collaboration, networking, professional development and public exposure, therefore, should not anticipate a lot of financial rewards, especially early on. That said, when profits are generated, they will be shared.

AVAILABLE ROLES [4 women/4 men]:

HUMANITY’S CHILD: Female; strong singer, full range vocal; age range 18-20; somewhat “smallish” in stature but with a big personality. Humanity’s Child represents all the young people of the Earth as they transcend from adolescence to adulthood and encounter the realities of the world today.

THE STORYTELLER: Male or Female; non-singing role; age range 30+; strong, dynamic personality. The Storyteller is the personification of the inner voice that we all hear, and the voice that Humanity’s Child hears through the play. He/she is also the voice of the “older” generation; parents and family of teens and young adults.

HUMANITY’S COUSINS: 3 Male [Tenor] and 3 Female (Sop/Alto), age range 18-23, strong singers/dancers. Humanity’s Cousins reflect the reality that all humans are cousins (albeit several thousand generations removed), thus they represent the extended human family.
