An epic love story based on Philip Sidney’s Arcadia, featuring the songs of The Go-Go’s. Head Over Heels is the story of what happens when the royal court of Arcadia is threatened by the mystical Oracle of Delphi with the loss of its “Beat,” the divine power that ensures the kingdom’s prosperity.

WHAT TO PREPARE:
One 16-32 bar pop/rock song (please bring sheet music in the correct key) and be prepared to read a provided sonnet.
Please be prepared to learn a brief dance combination. All performers in this production will dance/move well.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
Basilius
The King of Arcadia. A sexy, good ol' boy. A hothead, but not a tyrant. Blindly thinks Arcadia is doing great under his masculine rule, which will be sorely tested during the course of the show.
Gynecia
The Queen of Arcadia. Attractive, wise, beautiful. Like any longstanding spouse, knows how to get her way with her husband when push comes to shove.
Pamela
Basilius' and Gynecia's ravishing elder daughter. Think Helen of Troy with the confidence of a Kardashian. Known to be the undisputed most beautiful bachelorette throughout Arcadia.
Philoclea
The other daughter. Shy and a good girl, she yearns to follow her heart rather than obey her father's orders.
Dametas
The King’s valet; father to Mopsa.
Mopsa
Lady-in-Waiting to Pamela. Warm, skeptical. Growing up without a mother has made her wise beyond her years about everyone and everything, which is why she is the (sometime) narrator to the show.
Musidorus
A young shepherd who courts after Philoclea.
Pythio
The Oracle of Delphi - a supernatural seer; Powerful. Mysterious. Demanding. Great sense of humor--can see through everyone.
Ensemble
Strong dancer-singers. Unique, charismatic individuals to inhabit the kingdom of Arcadia. Assorted suitors, servants, subjects, sheep and one bear.
