HOW TO SUCCEED.... - Theatre Under the Stars

Auditions for the upcoming Theatre Under The Stars production of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying will be held as follows:

HOUSTON, TX
September 22, 2016 - EPA / ECC from 3-7 p.m. and Open Call from 7-8 p.m.
September 23, 2016 - Dance Call - arrive at 5 p.m. to sign in.

LOS ANGELES, CA
September 25, 2016 - EPA from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and ECC from 3-7 p.m.
September 26, 2016 - Dance Call - arrive at 10 a.m. to sign in.

No appointments will be taken. Actors who are interested in auditioning for the production should submit a headshot and resume directly to Stewart/Whitley electronically

Theatre Under The Stars and Stewart/Whitley are currently casting the following roles for this show:

J. PIERREPONT FINCH:
Male 20s-30: Clever young businessman eager to climb the corporate ladder to success. Has a façade of innocence and charm. High Baritone or Tenor with clarion G.
Principal role: Any Ethnicity

ROSEMARY PILKINGTON:
Female 20s-30: A secretary at the World Wide Wicket Company. Genuinely good natured and sweet but also smart and with a backbone – knows what she wants and goes after it. Natural middle-range chest or mix to D – not a traditional ingénue soprano. Principal role: Any Ethnicity

J B BIGGLEY:
Male 40s – 60’s: Gruff and a bit blithering – struggles to appear in control. Lusts after the bombshell Hedy La Rue. Character baritone with the hidden soul of a crooner. Principal role: Any Ethnicity

SMITTY:
Female 20-30’s: A secretary at the World Wide Wicket Company. Wise cracking and worldly.
She sings where she speaks – Alto with strong, traditional belt to Bb/C. Principal role: Any Ethnicity

HEDY LA RUE:
Female 30’s: A not-too-bright bombshell. Gorgeous woman who uses her looks and sexuality to get what she wants. Principal role: Any Ethnicity

BUD FRUMP:
Male 20s – 30s: Conniving nephew of the boss. Will do anything to get a promotion. Jealous of Finch and anyone who stands in his way. A character-ful high baritone or Tenor with a commanding G. Principal role: Any Ethnicity

MISS JONES:
Female 30s – 50s: The head secretary. A tyrant who relishes her limited authority and lords it over the other employees. Character soprano and/or high belty mix.
Principal role: Any Ethnicity

TWIMBLE/WHOMPER:
Male 40s-60s: Roles will be played by the same actor. Twimble: Head of the mailroom at World Wide Wickets for 25 yrs. Consummate “company man”. Whomper: The BIG BOSS. A self-made man. No nonsense or pretense. Strong character baritone. Principal role: Any Ethnicity

BERT BRATT:
Male 30s-50s: Director of Personnel at World Wide Wickets – middle-management executive; “yes-man” to the Boss, will do pretty much anything to stay in good favor with upper management. Character Bass or Baritone. Principal role: Any Ethnicity

FEMALE ENSEMBLE Strong Singer/Dancers to play company secretaries and other characters. Various ethnicities and ages.

MALE ENSEMBLE Strong Singer/Dancers to play company executives. Various ages and ethnicities.

Artistic note: WE ARE ACTIVELY SEEKING ACTORS OF ALL ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS IN ALL ROLES FOR THIS PRODUCTION.
