ANNOUNCING: Theatre Raleigh Announces Auditions for Holiday Cabaret
Following the first season in their brand new Arts Center, Theatre Raleigh has announced auditions for an upcoming Holiday Cabaret. Auditions for this special holiday event are being held virtually, and will be accepted through 4pm on November 5th.
Though Theatre Raleigh is in Phase 2 of construction in the performance space, the opportunity to celebrate the holidays with some of Raleigh’s most acclaimed artists and beloved patrons could not be missed! This elegant and intimate evening staged in the lobby bar will remind you of NYC cabarets at Feinstein's or the Algonquin Hotel.
“This production is designed for audience's of all ages, and from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave you will be filled with joy and experience a winter wonderland” Director Abbey O'Brien explained who is seeking performers that will bring the holiday magic to life.
I'm looking for artists that have a story to tell. That have an interesting, unique outlook on the holidays, O'Brien said. I'm hoping to find diverse talent who have history with different celebrated holidays during this season. Are you someone who loves the holidays and starts decorating Nov 1, or someone who counts down the days to Jan. 2nd and watches Die Hard instead. Are you someone who has a beautiful family Hanukkah tradition or perhaps celebrates a less common holiday.”
Required for auditions:
-32 bars of a musical theatre song
-32 bars of a holiday song
-1 minute personal holiday story
Filmed auditions should be sent to
theatreraleigh@gmail.com. If sharing through Google Drive, allow access to the same email.
Auditions are open to everyone 18+.
Rehearsals will begin Nov. 29th, with performances running Dec. 16-19.

What Critics Are Saying About Theatre Raleigh...
what makes this production riveting is the beguiling performance by Judy McLane, a tour de force not to be missed --Lauren Van Hemert, BWW
Theatre Raleigh’s beautiful production of “Daddy Long Legs” exhibits top professional talent in every aspect”
--Roy C. Dicks, News & Observer
The most recent play to bowl me over is
Theatre Raleigh's Big Fish.. This production pulls out all the stops…This production also sports a sensational cast, superlative musicians, a tremendously versatile set, and magnificent stage presence. A small cast (for a musical) and a small (six-piece) orchestra present a big sound - combine to make a show that tugs at the heartstrings and the tear ducts.
