AUDITION NOTICE: HEAR THE VOICE, BE THE VERSE ON NOVEMBER 11
Gamut Theatre Group will be holding auditions for their Stage Door Series production of “Hear the Voice, Be The Verse: A Poetry Anthology for the Stage”. This production is a one-act, original adaptation of classical verse poetry. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, November 11 at 7 p.m. at Gamut Classic Theatre, at 15 N. 4th St., Harrisburg.
This performance is part of Gamut Theatre’s Stage Door Series, Performance dates will beDecember 11 – December 15, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. We are currently casting five actors: three males and two females, or vice versa, depending on the actor. Age, race and body type is of no consequence. What we are looking for are actors with a strong, clear voice and impeccable diction, the ability to analyze the text and create unique characterizations and a forceful enough presence to hold the stage and audience alone.
We ask all actors attending the auditions to prepare a recitation (without book) 1-2 minutes long from a rhymed verse poem, preferably classical in nature. There will be callbacks the same evening.
