For auditions, please prepare 32 measures of an up-beat song and be prepared to tell a nursery rhyme story in your own words. Auditions will also include reading from the script and dance as applicable.

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS:
Spritely Bunny wants to do anything but go to sleep and his friends happily oblige his whimsy as they sing and dance and play in the Great Green Room, much to the dismay of the kindly Old Lady watching over Bunny. Based on the beloved children’s picture book, Goodnight Moon brings adventure and the magic of imagination to the stage.
Ages reflect age (look) of actors we will consider. There will be doubling, some puppet work, dance, and physical comedy in this production.
Female Roles
Old Lady: Bunny’s kindly caregiver, mother figure. Song: “Good Night Moon.” Ensemble singing in multiple songs, duet with Bunny. Age 20+
Mouse: Bunny’s young, energetic side kick. Comic-timing and high-energy required. Song: “North Star.” Ensemble singing in multiple songs. Age 12+ (encourage spritely teen/adult actors to audition for this role)
Mama Bear: Dancing matronly bear. Song: “Bears with Chairs.” Ensemble singing multiple songs. Age 20+
Male Roles
Bunny: Spritely, adventurous, young Bunny. Lead vocals and ensemble singing in multiple songs. High energy role. Prefer teen/adult actor. Age 12+ (encourage spritely teen/adult male actors to audition for this role)
Tooth Fairy: Rock star male tooth fairy. Song: “Tooth Fairy.” Ensemble singing multiple songs. Age 20+
Papa Bear: Dancing patriarch of the Bear family. Song: “Bears with Chairs.” Ensemble singing multiple songs. Age 20+
Gender Neutral Roles
Cow, Cat, Dog, Dish, Spoon: This quintet brings to life the nursery rhyme “Hey Diddle Diddle …” Will consider actors 10yrs and up. Must move well and bring lots of energy. Ensemble singing with some solos.
Bunny’s room comes to life with talking clocks, two furry kittens playing on the floor, a chatty red balloon, talking telephone, and a bed that comes to life. Cast members will give life to various puppets in the Great Green Room.
