AUDITION
Monday, November 18th | 6:00 – 10:00pm
The creative team is looking for two vibrant, inventive, and collaborative performers to complete this four-person cast. The music mixes influence from punk, hip hop, alternative rock, and trip hop, so performers should be confident singing and dancing in these different styles. Both performers need to be excellent dancers and singers who are comfortable with improvisation. Both characters are female-identifying, however performers of all gender expressions are welcome.
Roles Available:
Echo #1: Has a rebellious rocker edge. A bold instigator with a fierce confidence in her own power. Excellent singer and dancer. Any voice type/range.

GET OUT ALIVE | Written by Nikki Lynette | Directed by Roger Ellis
for Steppenwolf’s LookOut Series January 30 – February 2, 2020
Get Out Alive is a new autobiographical musical by independent artist Nikki Lynette. Using storytelling, song, movement, visual media, and a live DJ, Nikki’s offbeat approach to sharing her personal mental health journey shows that even when life leads us to a bad place, we can always make it out alive. Recounting her personal journey marked by abuse, grief, sexual assault, and suicide, Lynette raises awareness around mental health all through the lens of a punk/hip hop concert. A creative powerhouse, Lynette's music has been featured in popular shows on MTV, Fox, Hulu and Netflix. Since her return to the public eye, she has written articles about mental health, depression, and suicide for prominent black publications, and is currently working on a mental health documentary Happy Songs About Unhappy Things.
