GYPSY - Playhouse 22 Non Equity Auditions

Playhouse 22, East Brunswick's Community Theater, will be having open auditions for Gypsy on Monday, February 20 and Tuesday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. Callbacks are scheduled to be held on Thursday, February 23 at 7 p.m. The show dates are April 27 – May 13, 2012. All shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Auditions will be held at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. The show will be directed by Gerry Appel, musical direction by Rory Chalcraft and choreography by Nancy Takacs. Singers should be prepared to sing 32 bars from musical theater in the style of the show (no songs from the show, please), that reflect their vocal range and shows their personality. (No Disney show, country, pop or rock shows, if possible). No acapella. An accompanist will be provided. Must bring your sheet music. Performers auditioning for non-singing character roles should come prepared with a short comic monologue (one minute or less – memorized or not).
