Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is holding auditions for its upcoming production of GUYS & DOLLS, directed by Nick DeGruccio, who previously directed Theatre Under The Stars’ acclaimed production of IN THE HEIGHTS in 2016.
“I am so looking forward to working with the people of TUTS and experiencing the wonderful city of Houston again. While I consider Guys and Dolls to be a “perfect musical”, I am excited and challenged by this “new twist” on the show,” said DeGruccio.
Auditions in Los Angeles and New York will take places on February 26th – 28th and March 21st – 23rd respectively. These will be overseen by Stewart/Whitley, and anyone interested in auditioning in New York or Los Angeles should submit a headshot and resume to

Houston auditions will take place on March 1st and 2nd, and will take place at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in the Administration Building located at

Casting a Latino-inspired production of Guys and Dolls. Historically, there was a significant migration of Latin people coming to New York during the 1940’s and 1950’s. This immigration resulted in a proliferation of Latin night clubs and the very popular expansion of Latin entertainment into American society. A cast who is either fluent and/or well-versed in Spanish is appreciated.
Sky Masterson: Male. Latino. Baritone B to Eb. 30’s - 40’s.
Charismatic, cool and charming. Sky is a suave, intelligent, handsome and confident gambler who naturally commands others’ respect and attention, women love him and men want to be him.

Strong comic actor. A funny, lovable rogue who is always slick-talking and struggling to stay one step ahead of the game beset upon on all sides-most importantly by his fiancée of 14 years, runs the local crap game.
Miss Adelaide: Female. Latina. Mezzo to A3-E5. 30s to 40s.
Strong comic actress. The cold-stricken star of the Hot Box Review where she dances in very little and sings like a trumpet – with a heart as big as all of Nueva York, put-upon, not bright, classic show girl that’s long-suffering but always hopeful

GUYS & DOLLS is scheduled to begin rehearsals on May 22nd, and will run June 12-24th with preview performances on June 12th and 13th, and Opening Night on June 14th.
