Gretna Theatre Announces Local Season Auditions

Mt. Gretna, PA – Equity and Open Auditions are announced for Gretna
Theatre’s upcoming summer season led by Larry Frenock, Producing
Artistic Director; Christian Saint-Girard, Resident Casting Director; Louis
F. Goldberg, Resident Musical Director; and Renee T. Krizan, Associate
Artistic Director.

Although much of Gretna Theatre’s casting is done in
New York, many roles are cast locally each season. Seeking triple-threat
actor/singer/dancers for all of the musicals listed, and especially excellent
local character actors for both the play and musicals to portray ages 40 –
65+. Also seeking one boy age 10 – 14 who must be an excellent young
actor and singer capable of talking/singing in musical pitch and with the
ability to do a British accent, not to exceed 5’ 4” tall by this summer to play Tom of Warwick in “Camelot.”
All roles are available for shows that include “Camelot” (runs June 19 - 29, director/choreographer Richard
Sabellico), Ken Ludwig’s “Moon over Buffalo” (runs July 10 - 20, director Jason Summers), “Little Shop of
Horrors” (runs July 24 – August 2, director/choreographer Dennis Courtney), and “Always…Patsy Cline” (runs August 21 - 24, director Jason Summers). The season will also include “A Tribute to The Four Seasons” performed by The Unexpected Boys June 12 – 15, 2014. Also offering acting internships for four males and four females ages 17-plus for the Theatre for Young Audiences series who will perform seven individual original one-hour musicals for children with rehearsals beginning June 21 and final show on August 17. Some interns may perform in mainstage productions as well. All performances will be at the Mt. Gretna Playhouse, Mt. Gretna, PA. Note that we cannot cast actors without an in-person audition.

Equity Principal Auditions and Open Non-Union Auditions at the Mt. Gretna Fire Hall in Mt. Gretna, PA on
Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Separate AEA and non-union sign-up lists will begin at 9:00 am – unofficial lists will not be honored. Actors’ Equity Association members will be seen first and in order of arrival. Please do not call for appointments. Auditions cannot be scheduled outside this date. Final callbacks will be held on March 29 by invitation only.

Gretna Theatre will also be attending the StrawHat auditions and conducting their own EPAs and open call in
New York City March 15 – 21, 2014.

Also seeking design and technical staff including AEA stage manager, non-union assistant stage managers,
technical director, props, electrics and lighting, wardrobe, carpenters and scenic painters. Internships also

transportation.
