About Cape Rep’s Production of GOOD PEOPLE
Kristin McLaughlin, director of Cape Rep’s recent hits Next to Normal, Monty Python’s SPAMALOT and Avenue Q, returns to direct. Pulitzer-prize-winning playwright, David Lindsay-Abaire, employs his brilliant humor and understanding of the human condition to take a look at class in America through the lens of his boyhood home, Southie, Boston. Margaret Walsh is a smart, wisecracking, single mom surviving on low pay and hard work. In an attempt to get ahead, she risks pride and reputation and approaches an old boyfriend, now a successful doctor, to help her. Margaret Walsh's family” in Southie, Jean, Dottie and Stevie, are funny, endearing, loyal and unforgettable. Rehearsals start on or about August 18 and the show runs September 18-October 19, 2014.
