Hershey Area Playhouse Holding Auditions for Godspell 2012
Hershey Area Playhouse is holding auditions for the first production of its 2016 season, Godspell 2012, Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. Auditions will take place at the Playhouse, located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Cherry Drive, Hershey.
Roles for five men and five women, who can sing, act and dance, are available. Those auditioning should come prepared to dance and with a song that demonstrates musicality and vocal range. Singing pieces from the show will also be part of the audition process. Prepared monologues are not necessary; readings will be from the script. Additionally, if those auditioning play an instrument, they are encouraged to bring the instrument along to the audition. Minimum audition age is 15.
Godspell 2012 is an updated version of the well-known musical that explores a portion of Jesus’ life, His death, and His followers. The Playhouse welcomes back Jan McCreary to direct this popular and meaningful musical. Performances will be held Feb. 11-14 and 18-21, 2016, at the Playhouse.
