Resurrection Theatre invites you to audition for:
GOD OF CARNAGE
by Yasmina Reza translated by Christopher Hampton
Directed by: Natasha Hause
This is a humorous play about two sets of parents, one of whose child has been hurt by the other in a public park. They meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner. The evening becomes a fall from the social facade into the unleashing of primal human nature. 90 minutes without an intermission.
Runs March 10 - April 1, 2017
Rehearses 5 Weeks prior to open during the week
Pre-Cast:
VERONICA- Adrienne Sher
ALAN- Shawn O'Neal
SEEKING:
ANNETTE Mid-30's to Mid-40's Married to Alan. She is always on the brink of unraveling. Well educated and smartly dressed. The pressures of motherhood and marriage have tarnished her self-confidence. In fact, because of her severe nerves and anxiety she vomits twice in the play (lots of fun for the actress!). She has a very strained relationship with her husband, Alan, who is constantly preoccupied with work. Constantly defending her son's behavior regarding this incident.
MICHAEL 50's Married to Veronica. Middle class, hard working family man. Appears to be the peacemaker by handling the evening calmly; transitions into becoming uncouth throughout the course of the play. He embodies both, having it under control into completely becoming unhinged, exemplifies great humor throughout the play.
