Casting - ''EVA LUNA'' - Repertorio Español
SYNOPSIS:
Isabel Allende's novel is re-imagined for the stage. This ensemble-driven play tells the coming-of-age story of EVA LUNA, a woman born into poverty in an unnamed South American country who rises up through the world to find her voice as a storyteller and a reflector of history. Enchanting, comical, and sly, EVA LUNA follows the character's journey from childhood to adulthood, and along the way allows us to meet an array of characters that will change the course of Eva's life forever.
Based on Isabel Allende’s novel. Adapted by Caridad Svich and directed by Estefanía Fadul.

Note: This is a Spanish-language production and all roles require fluency in Spanish.
- EVA LUNA – (she/her, plays 6 - 40’s). A storyteller at different stages of her life. Curious, inquisitive, witty, determined, intelligent, with a huge imagination. Isn’t afraid to push boundaries and challenge the status quo while leading with a big and open heart and mind. She is both a dreamer and a doer. An empath who connects to others via her stories.
- ROLF CARLE- (he/him, plays 30’s-40’s). Austrian immigrant and Eva’s eventual lover. A child of war, he has a deep sense of justice which has led him to become a well-known photojournalist, exposing corruption and the human cost of war. He’s too practical to call himself a storyteller but he is undoubtedly one.
- CONSUELO- (she/her, 30’s-40’s). Eva’s mother. Warm yet strict and disciplined. She is herself a storyteller with a vivid imagination, a gift she has passed on to her daughter. However, she is also practical and grounded, and has accepted the reality of the working life available to her as a poor woman- and wants to prepare her daughter for that as well. Also plays ELVIRA, the cook.
- MIMI/MELESIO- (she/her, transfeminine, plays 20’s-40’s). A schoolteacher by day and cabaret singer by night. A multi-talented polyglot with a sharp and curious mind, and a warm and kind heart. Loves putting on a show and dreams of being a famous actress in telenovelas – a dream that eventually becomes a reality. Also plays BARTENDER TWO, in the mountains.

Opening date: June 3rd, 2022
The play will run until June 12th, 2022, and will join our repertory during the next season.
