THEATER TO GO will be holding auditions for their March 2022 production of DIAL M FOR MURDER

Actors of all ethnicities, gender identification and abilities are encouraged to audition

AUDITION DATES & TIMES

  • Sunday January 16, 2022 11-3 pm
  • Monday January 17, 2022 9 7-9 pm

· APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED

· If you can’t attend at these times, email us to make other arrangements

· All roles are Non-Equity, unpaid

Auditioners and performers must show proof of vaccination and comply with MCCC Covid Protocols.

AUDITION LOCATION

All auditions, rehearsals and performances will be at Kelsey Theatre in West Windsor NJ


  • Kelsey Theatre (at MCCC) 1200 Old Trenton Rd, West Windsor NJ 08550
  • In the CM Building immediately behind Kelsey Theatre. Look for signs for DIAL M AUDITIONS

PERFORMANCE DATES

  • Fridays March 18 & 25 at 8pm
  • Saturdays, March 19 & 26 at 8pm
  • Sundays, March 20 & 27 at 2p

REHEARSALS

  • Rehearsals will begin after Auditions and cast assignments, and tentatively will be held Sundays from 1-5pm, and 2 weekdays from 7-10 pm, exact days will be determined by cast schedule and conflicts
  • Tech week (attendance is mandatory): March 13-18

Audition Requirements:

  • Bring a headshot (or similar photo) and resume, or email to

    info@TheaterToGo.com in advance of the audition
  • Attached Audition Forms can be filled out ahead of time and emailed, or completed at the time of your audition.
  • Know your conflicts and list on the audition form. Please be thorough.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your time if you need to complete an audition form on site.
  • Please prepare a short monologue no more than 2 minutes
  • You may be asked to read from the script
  • Auditions will be in person.

COVID Protocols:

  • Be prepared to show proof of vaccination

ABOUT THE PLAY

The play is an interior scene set in the 1950s London. Tony Wendice, a professional Tennis player, married, Margot, for her money and now plans to murder her for the same reason. He arranges the perfect crime. He blackmails a scoundrel he used to know into strangling her for a fee of one thousand pounds, and arranges a brilliant alibi for himself. Unfortunately, the murderer gets murdered and the victim survives. What will happen next?

ROLE/CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS: Actors of all ethnicities, gender identification and abilities are encouraged to audition

Ensemble of 5 + cameos

MARGOT WENDICE (Female 30+ ): The charming, naïve, and wealthy wife of Tony, Margot has no idea that Tony knows of her past affair with Max, nor does she suspect that Tony is planning to murder her. British accent

MAX HALLIDAY (Male 30+): An American murder mystery writer, Tony had an affair with Margot during the time Tony was playing professional tennis tournaments in America. He is still in love with Margot and comes to visit the couple in London. American Accent

TONY WENDICE (Male 30+): Margot’s husband, Tony is a former professional tennis player who married Margot for her money. He is selfish and arrogant and has an elaborate scheme to murder Margot. British accent

CAPTAIN LESGATE (Male 30+): An old schoolmate of Tony’s and a convicted criminal. Lesgate is now being blackmailed by Tony into murdering Margot. He seems willing to do anything for money. British Accent

INSPECTOR HUBBARD (non-gender specific 40 +): A British Inspector of Police, Hubbard is a bit eccentric, but thoughtful and thorough. British accent

SGT THOMPSON (Non - Gender specific 30+) Hubbard’s Police Sergeant

4?5 Flexible Roles - Phone Callers/Brief Walk?Ons: Could be a costumed character on stage during the phone call OR a brief character with few lines but important to move the plot
