CPCC Summer Theatre will hold auditions by appointment for our 41st season on February 22nd from 9:00a to 3:00p in the Halton Theatre on the college’s Central campus. Appointments can be made starting Feb 1, 2014 by calling the number below.
Auditions are open for actors, technicians and interns 15 to 60+ on that date. A separate audition will be held for kids 6 to 14 on March 17 & 18 at 7:00pm. Another notice will be sent out with details concerning the kid’s auditions. The season runs May 26th to July 26th for actors and May 19th to July 27th for technicians.
Auditionees need to prepare a 90 second SETC style audition. In that 90 seconds present 16 bars of a song and a monologue. Headshots and resumes are encouraged but not required. An accompanist will be provided. Bring sheet music in the correct key. No transposing is available. No singing to cds.
Everyone will be expected to attend a dance call as well. Morning dance call is 11:00a. Afternoon Dance call is 2:00pm. Times may vary depending on the size of turnout. Plan to be at the audition for at least half a day.
If you are interested in the nonmusical ( Over the River and Through the Woods) only, prepare a 90 second monologue. Call backs will be held after the morning and afternoon sessions for the nonmusical if necessary.
We are casting all five shows- The Scarlet Pimpernel June 6- 14, L’il Abner June 20 -28, Little Mermaid Jr. July 2 -12, Over the River and Through the Woods June 5 – 12, Mary Poppins July 18 -26 . All roles are available in all shows. Audtionees can be cast in one show or more depending upon interest and availability. Successful auditionees must be available for day time rehearsals on all shows except The Scarlet Pimpernel. Stipends available for most roles.
Technicians will be seen starting at 10:00am. Bring a portfolio if available. Interviews are on a first come first seen basis.
