The CM Performing Arts Center will be holding auditions for GREEN DAY'S AMERICAN IDIOT at The Noel S. Ruiz Theatre on Monday, November 18th & Tuesday, November 19th @ 7:30pm. Rehearsals will begin at the end of November. Performances are February 15-March 14.
*The CM Performing Arts Center is a NonProfit Theatre. All Actors are volunteers.

Please bring headshot/resume and prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of Green Day with sheet music - an accompanist will be provided. If you play acoustic guitar, please bring it to auditions to play any song you are comfortable with, regardless of the role you are auditioning for. Be prepared to dance following the vocal audition. CAST OF CHARACTERS:
JOHNNY - The self-proclaimed Jesus of Suburbia. Bored of his do-nothing, go-nowhere existence, he takes off for the city to get a new lease on life. He wages an inner war between a budding love for Whatsername and a growing dependency on St. Jimmy and drugs. Must be able to play Boulevard of Broken Dreams, When It's Time, and Wake Me Up When September Ends on acoustic guitar. Must be a strong actor with strong rock belt up to B4.
TUNNY - Johnny's friend who follows him to the city and eventually enlists in the army and travels to the Middle East. He's a dreamer who is easily swayed, first by Johnny's ideas and then by patriotism and the American Dream. Must be able to play Wake Me Up When September Ends on acoustic guitar. Must be a strong actor with strong rock belt up to B4.
WILL - Johnny's friend who ends up staying in Suburbia to take care of his pregnant girlfriend, Heather. The more he stays on the couch, the more he becomes slowly disconnected from the world and his own relationships. Must be able to play Wake Me Up When September Ends on acoustic guitar. Must be a strong actor with strong rock belt up to A4.
ST. JIMMY - Johnny's alter ego, known as the city badass. An enigmatic and charismatic enabler who gets Johnny addicted to drugs and grows jealous of his relationship with Whatsername. Looking to cast any gender identity. Must have strong acting with strong rock belt up to F#5.
WHATSERNAME - A girl in the city who falls for Johnny. A rebellious activist who is willing to follow Johnny to the ends of the earth but fights to have him embrace their authentic relationship rather than pursue his addiction. Must be a strong actress with strong rock belt up to D#5, must be able to move well.
HEATHER - Will's girlfriend in Suburbia. She discovers she is pregnant but has difficulty telling her boyfriend of the news. Once she settles down with him, she struggles to maintain their relationship with his despondency and eventually leaves him. Must be a strong actress with strong rock belt up to E5.
EXTRAORDINARY GIRL - A girl in the Middle East who appears as a sexual hallucination to an injured Tunny. Attractive and mysterious, she later appears as his nurse and accompanies him home after the war. Must be a strong actress with strong belt up to E5, must be able to move well.
ENSEMBLE - Looking for a badass ensemble with incredible rock voices and strong movers/dancers to be heavily involved with this production, including solos in Favorite Son, Too Much Too Soon, Holiday, and many more. Must be 18+, all ethnicities and gender identities are encouraged to audition.
