Will hold Auditions

For two Covedale Center productions:

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella

Sunday, September 9th AND Monday, September 10th, 2012, @ 6:00 – 8:30 pm

and

Broadway Bound

Sunday, September 9th 6:00 – 8:30 pm (one night only)

All auditions will be held at the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts, 4990 Glenway Avenue in West Price Hill.

For Cinderella (Covedale Show #3 – HOLIDAY SHOW)

Requirements for Adult Performers: Must be 16 + years of age. MUST HAVE A RESUME listing theatrical experience in order to audition. A headshot/picture is appreciated but not required. Auditionees will be asked to read of the script, sing a musical theatre song that best represents his/her voice and may be asked to complete a dance audition.

For Children: 9 to 15 years of age: A headshot/picture is appreciated but not required. Auditionees will be asked sing a musical theatre song that best represents his/her voice and may be asked to dance. MUST be able to read well and follow instructions.

Please NOTE!

Children’s Chorus Auditions start at 6:00 pm each night. Adult Auditions start at 7:00 each night.

Please note: No more than two conflicts will be accepted during the rehearsal process for this production.

The timeless enchantment of this magical fairy tale is all dressed up on the Covedale stage as a Christmas fantasia, complete with the Prince’s Christmas Ball, Cinderella’s crystalline castle and a holiday romance that begins with a sparkling slipper! This is the famous Rodgers & Hammerstein version, originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews. Our special Christmas edition will transport a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true. The hearts of children and adults alike will soar when the slipper fits. Songs include: The Prince Is Giving A Ball,In My Own Little Corner, Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?, Impossible and many more. Part three of Neil Simon's acclaimed autobiographical trilogy finds Eugene and his older brother Stanley trying to break into the world of show business as professional comedy writers while coping with their parents’ break-up and eventual divorce. Kate’s Socialist- supporting father, Ben has moved into the Jerome home and married, well-to-do Aunt Blanche visits to try to convince Ben to join his wife in Miami, Florida. Rehearsals begin: Monday, December 3, 2012

Performance dates: January 24 – February, 17, 2013

All roles are paid positions.

Characters to be cast include: Eugene (20 – 26 years of age) and Stan (25 to 30 years of age)

Performers do not have to be the actual ages of the characters but must be able to play the age range.

Please note: If you are auditioning for both productions, please provide headshots and resumes for both shows. Please note: It is not possible to do both shows as they are back to back productions.
