A charming and revealing comedy based on the true story of a group of working-class British housewives who became overnight celebrities by posing for a nude calendar in order to raise money for a new leukemia unit. After Annie Clark's husband succumbs to leukemia, she and her friend Chris Harper, both members of a charitable women's institute, are motivated to take some action. They convince the group to craft a tastefully nude calendar featuring the usual ladies' activities of gardening and baking, as photographed by the young amateur Lawrence. Despite the disapproval of the Institute's leader, the calendar quickly becomes a best-seller and leads the group to Hollywood.

*This production contains a scene in which the 'nude' photos for the calendar are taken. While no full nudity will be exposed to the audience, actors auditioning for the roles of Chris, Annie, Cora, Jessie, Celia and Ruth must understand that, they might expect exposure to other cast members and crew.
