Florida Studio Theatre, Richard Hopkins Artistic Director, is accepting immediate video submissions of highly experienced and skilled performers for the following show/roles in the 2017-18 Season:
BLUE SUEDE SHOES by Richard Hopkins and Rebecca Hopkins.
Rock ‘N’ Roll originated during the late 40s and early 50s, taking its roots from the blues, boogie-woogie, jazz, swing, and country music. Featuring artists such as father of Rock ‘N’ Roll Chuck Berry, to other greats such as Bo Diddley, Elvis Presley, Carl Per¬kins, and Jerry Lee Lewis with songs such as “Maybellene,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” and “A Whole Lot of Shaking Going On.”
Man #1 – an African-American man in his 30’s-40’s, baritone. Must be an excellent singer and excellent 50s rock ‘n’ roll guitar player or pianist.
Man #3 – a Caucasian man in mid 30’s-40’s, tenor. Must be an excellent singer and excellent 50s rock ‘n’ roll guitar player. Elvis Presley type.
NOTE – WE ARE SEEKING STRONG SINGER/INSTRUMENTALISTS WITH “RECORDING QUALITY” VOICES, SIGNIFICANT SONG INTERPRETATION SKILLS, AND SIGNIFICANT REGIONAL THEATRE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.

Previews: November 29 & 30, 2017
Opens: December 1, 2017
Closes: April 22, 2018

Auditionees should prepare no more than 32 bars of the song of their choice in the style of the show (50s style rock ‘n’ roll, no vocal runs) and accompany themselves on their instrument.
