The Theatre Group at SBCC will hold auditions for the classic play, BUS STOP, by William Inge, directed by R. Michael Gros, on Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday August 29 by appointment in the Garvin Theatre. Audition times are available between 6:30-9:30pm. There are 3 women and 5 men’s roles and all are available. In the middle of a howling snowstorm, a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a cheerful roadside diner. All roads are blocked, and a few weary travelers are going to have to hole up until morning. A nightclub chanteuse, a twenty-one-year-old cowboy, a belligerent cowhand and a middle-age scholar comprise the unexpected guests. The local sheriff, the overly friendly bus driver and the two diner waitresses round out this warm-hearted slice of humanity. A little romance, some comedy and a mysterious past or two are all served up hot and steaming on a cold Kansas night.
