Broadway Theatre Project’s National Audition Tour sets sail for the University of Central Florida
For 25 years, Broadway Theatre Project (BTP) has held auditions nationwide for acceptance into the world’s finest three-week summer training intensive. On Sunday, February 22, for the first time ever, auditions for this internationally lauded program will be held at the University of Central Florida. Auditions will take place from 1 PM to 4 PM in the Performing Arts Center - Theatre Building - Studio One, which is located at 12488 Centaurus Blvd., Orlando, FL 32816.
Playbill.com refers to BTP as, “…the world’s most prestigious musical theatre arts education program for high school and college students.”
This year’s project is being hosted by the premiere Norwegian Cruise Line and runs from July 9th through August 1st. During these three weeks, 80 of the nation’s finest musical theatre’s students will train under the direction of upwards of 20 industry professionals, including Tony Award winning Broadway star, Donna McKechnie, Broadway’s most significant Casting Director, Jay Binder, and many other legends of the stage and screen.
For the first two weeks of the project, apprentices (16 and up) will train at the International Production Headquarters of Norwegian Cruise Line Creative Studios (near Tampa). During week three, BTP takes to the sea on theNorwegian Getaway for a week-long “working” Caribbean cruise, while studying the operations of two professional Broadway shows and performing in rep withLegally Blonde and Burn the Floor. Select apprentices will additionally have the opportunity to perform in various lounges on-board the Norwegian Getaway.
The cost for this three-week educational opportunity is $3,750 USD, which includes tuition, housing, food, beverage, and admission aboard the seven-day/six-night Caribbean cruise to the Virgin Islands and Bahamas.

A sixteen-bar cut of a song should be prepared with sheet music properly marked; an accompanist will be provided. In addition, please prepare a one-minute monologue. Complete audition packets include a 2015 Application Form, letter of recommendation, headshot, and a $35 non-refundable registration fee.
