Fractured Theatre @ WTGproduction will hold auditions for Body Awareness Thursday, December 13th at 7 pm and Saturday, December 15th from 2pm-4pm at the Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main Street, Willimantic.
Body Awareness is the first major play from Pulitzer Prize winner and MacArthur Fellow Annie Baker. Having been heralded by the playwright as a “play about issues that isn’t ‘an issue play’ this show follows Phyllis, a psychology professor organizing a “Body Awareness Week” on campus, her partner Joyce, and Joyce’s adult son Jared. The underlying tensions of the household are augmented by the presence of a visiting photographer, Frank, whose subjects of choice offends Phyliss. When Joyce begins to side more with Frank and Jared begins going to him for advice, the nature of relationships begin to change.
