THE BRASS TACKS ENSEMBLE
ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR
BLITHE SPIRIT
BY NOEL COWARD
The Brass Tacks Ensemble (Artistic Director James Ingagiola and Executive Director Isaac Ellis) is excited to announce auditions for Blithe Spirit by Noël Coward, directed by Aaron C. Wade.
Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit, directed by Aaron C. Wade, rounds out the 2018 Season in the fall. When a socialite novelist curious about the occult hires a medium to gain inspiration for his next book, he gets more than he ever bargained for; the ghost of his first wife returns, spreading tragically hilarious consequences in her wake. Noël Coward's enduring play explores the dark repercussions of blissful ignorance, and with the help of the supernatural creates marital turmoil like no one has ever seen. Blithe Spirit plays for two weekends, November 2-4 and November 9-11, 2018; Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 2:00 pm at the CCC, 1600 Pauline Blvd. in Ann Arbor. Blithe Spirit is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
We are looking to cast seven actors--5 female, 2 male--of varying ages. We encourage actors of all races, genders, and gender identities to audition, and we will consider all actors 18 years of age and older. Auditions will consist of cold readings of monologues from the script. Please bring your calendar/schedule to the auditions.
The Brass Tacks Ensemble is a non-Equity, membership-based, professional theater. Non-members involved in our productions earn points toward membership and are not paid. Members are paid a small stipend for their work on our productions. Please see
www.btensemble.org for more details on becoming a member. We’d love to have you!
Auditions will be held 6-8 pm on Sunday, August 19, and Monday, August 20, 2018. Callbacks (if necessary) will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Location of auditions and callbacks is TBD (in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area).
Actors interested in auditioning should contact The Brass Tacks Ensemble to reserve a ten-minute time slot on either August 19th or 20th. The Brass Tacks Ensemble can be reached through email at
thebrasstacksensemble@gmail.com or by contacting James Ingagiola by phone at (734) 330-4615.
If you are interested in auditioning but none of the above times work for you, please contact us, and we will try to set up an alternate time.
Rehearsals will begin the week of September 10, 2018, and they will generally be held Mondays through Thursdays in the evening. Actors should expect to be at every rehearsal during the first production week (October 29-November 4, 2018) and one night (to be determined) between production weekends.
