The CM Performing Arts Center will be holding open auditions for their upcoming production of BEEHIVE: The 60’s Musical on Monday, December 6 and Tuesday, December 7 at 7:30PM. Please prepare 16 bars of music either from or in the style of the show. Please also wear clothes and shoes comfortable to dance in in case you are asked to stick around for a dance call.
All gender identities and expressions, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and physical and cognitive abilities are encouraged to audition. The CM Performing Arts Center is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in the casting and encourages actors of diverse backgrounds and underrepresented groups to audition. For the safety of all performers, staff, and our CM community, all performers and staff must be either fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or present proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test or COVID-19 molecular PCR test on a weekly basis. Unvaccinated performers and staff must wear masks or approved face coverings at all rehearsals and performances. Individuals will be considered fully vaccinated 14 days after their second dose of the Pfizer/BioTech or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine or 14 days after their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine.

BEEHIVE – The ‘60s Musical is a loving, rockin’ celebration of that era’s powerful female voices whose music stands the test of time – including Diana Ross, Janis Joplin, Carole King, Aretha Franklin, and Tina Turner! With over two dozen timeless hits, including “It’s My Party,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?,” “Where the Boys Are,” and “You Don’t Own Me,” the show takes you on a song-filled journey told from the perspective of six women coming of age during this unforgettable time, taking us from their first Beehive Dance through a decade of change. BEEHIVE – The ‘60s Musical will have you dancing in the aisles!

Character Descriptions:
WANDA (18+) – A strong actress as well as singer. She carries the bulk of the dialogue and narration throughout the revue. She is a leader – strong, powerful and engaging. She must have the ability to interact comfortably with the audience.
JASMINE (18+) – She portrays Diana Ross of the Supremes as well as the lead singer of the Chiffons, Judy Craig. Sings songs “One Fine Day,” “Where Did Our Love Go?” “Come See About Me,” and others.
LAURA (18+) – Portrays Janis Joplin; Lulu and others. Sings songs “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “To Sir With Love,” “Piece of My Heart,” “Try,” “Me and Bobby McGee,” and others.
ALLISON (18+) – Of the six actresses, Alison has the most lyrical warm voice. She sings songs “Downtown,” “Where the Boys Are,” “Society’s Child,” “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me” and others.
PATTIE (18+) – Sings the songs “It’s My Party,” “You Don’t Know Me,” “Wishin’ and Hopin’,” “A Natural Woman,” and others.
GINA (18+) – Portrays Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin and the lead singer of the Starlets. Sings songs “I Sold My Heart to a Junkman,” “A Fool in Love,” “Proud Mary,” “Respect” and others
