ANNIE - The Noel S. Ruiz Theatre Non Equity Auditions

ANNIE - The Noel S. Ruiz Theatre

The CM Performing Arts Center will be holding Auditions for Annie at The Noel S. Ruiz Theatre on Monday September 17th and Tuesday September 18th. Kids will be seen at 7:00PM. All Orphans MUST BE 7-12 and be comfortable with dogs. All Orphans will be Double Cast. Adults will be seen at 8:30PM. Please prepare 16 bars of music either from or in the style of the show. If you can not attend the Audition dates, please email video submissions along with resumes to Amanda@cmpac.com. See below for a list of Performance Dates.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS
Sandy (Lead): Dog
Golden/White Color - Medium to Large size Dog. Must be good with children.

Annie (Lead): Female
Must be able to appear age 11.
Energetic and optimistic orphan who never gives up hope that better days are ahead. Sings “Maybe” and “Tomorrow”. (Voice Range: Low A to High F.) VERY STRONG SINGER/ACTRESS. Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

Oliver Warbucks (Lead): Male 40-65
A powerful billionaire, who always has his mind on business, but has a kind heart looking for someone to love. Sings “Something Was Missing” and “I Don’t Need Anything But You”. (Vocal Range: Baritone to a high F.) Must be able to sing and act. Move a little.

Grace Farrell (Lead): Female 25-35
Loyal and intelligent private secretary to Oliver Warbucks. She brings Annie and Warbucks together. Sings “I think I’m Gonna Like It Here”, “NYC”, “You Won’t Be an Orphan For Long” and “I Don’t Need Anything But You”. (Vocal Range: Soprano to high G). Must be able to sing, act and dance.

Miss Hannigan (Lead): Female 35-55
Incredible character/comedic actress needed. Desperate and unhappy with her lot in life, she is the alcoholic orphanage matron who is Annie’s nemesis. Sings, “Little Girls” and “Easy Street”. (Vocal Range: Alto A to D) Must be able to sing

Lily St. Regis (Supporting): Female 20-35
Shady, floozy girlfriend of Rooster. Sings “Easy Street”. (Vocal Range: Soprano up to a high G) Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

Rooster (Supporting): Male 20-45
Character actor who can play a limber, slimey con artist. He also plays Mr. Mudge, a simple man to con Warbucks. Miss Hannigan’s greedy and dishonest brother. Sings “Easy Street” (Vocal Range: Tenor to high G). Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

Franklin D. Roosevelt (Supporting): Male 40-65
The President of the United States of America, who takes an immediate liking to Annie and her optimism. Must be able to imitate Franklin Roosevelt and be able to sing and act. Sings “Tomorrow Reprise” and “New Deal For Christmas.”

Duffy (Supporting): Female
The oldest girl in the orphanage. Sings “It’s A Hard Knock Life”, “Never Fully Dressed Reprise”, and “New Deal For Christmas.” (Voice Range: Low A to High F). Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

July (Supporting): Female
The quietest girl in the orphanage. Sings “It’s A Hard Knock Life”, “Never Fully Dressed Reprise”, and “New Deal For Christmas.” (Voice Range: Low A to High F) Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

Kate (Supporting): Female
The second to youngest orphan. Sings “It’s A Hard Knock Life” and “Never Fully Dressed Reprise”, and “New Deal For Christmas.” (Voice Range: Low A to High F) Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

Molly (Supporting): Female
One of the youngest orphans. Sings “It’s A Hard Knock Life”, “Never Fully Dressed Reprise”, and “New Deal For Christmas.” (Voice Range: Low A to High F) Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

Pepper (Supporting): Female
The toughest girl in the orphanage. Sings “It’s A Hard Knock Life” and “Never Fully Dressed Reprise”, and “New Deal For Christmas.” (Voice Range: Low A to High F) Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

Tessi (Supporting): Female
This is the crybaby of the orphanage. Sings “It’s A Hard Knock Life”, “Never Fully Dressed Reprise” and “New Deal For Christmas.” (Voice Range: Low A to High F) Must be able to sing, act, and dance.

Bert Healy (Supporting): Male 30-60
A popular radio announcer. Sings “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile”. (Vocal Range: Tenor to F#) Also used in the ensemble.

Lt. Ward (Supporting): Male 20-60
NYPD officer who is suspicious of Annie. Sing and move well. Also used in the ensemble.

Bundles McClosky (Supporting): Male 20-60
The laundry man who flirts with Ms. Hannigan and aids Annie’s attempt to escape. Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well.

Jimmy Johnson (Supporting): Male 20-55
Silly radio personality on Bert Healy’s radio show. Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well.

Fred McCracken (Supporting): Male 20-55
Puppet wrangler. Uses a dummy on Bert Healy’s radio show. Baritone. Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well.

The Boylan Sisters (Supporting): Female 20-40
Singing group that sing back up to Bert Healy. Must be able to sing well and harmonize. (Vocal Range: Requires 1 Alto, 1 First Soprano, 1 Second Soprano.) Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well.

Harold Ickes (Supporting): Male 20-60
An associate of President Roosevelt. (Must be able to sing harmony.) Also in ensemble. Sing and move well.

Frances Perkins (Supporting): Female 20-60
An associate of President Roosevelt. (Vocal Range Mezzo Soprano) Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well

Cordell Hull (Supporting): Male 20-60
An associate of President Roosevelt. (Must be able to sing harmony.) Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well.

Henry Morganthau (Supporting): Male 20-60
An associate of President Roosevelt. (Must be able to sing harmony.) Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well.

Louis Howe (Supporting): Male 20-60
An associate of President Roosevelt. (Must be able to sing harmony.) Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well.

Star to Be (Supporting): Female 15-25
Aspiring Broadway actress who sings during NYC. Mezzo. BIG BELT NEEDED. Very charismatic, tons of energy, and hopeful. Also used in the ensemble. Sing and move well.

Adult Ensemble (Featured): Men and Women 16+
Townspeople who appear in “Hooverville”, “NYC”, and may appear as servants at Warbuck’s Mansion. Must be able to sing, act, and dance. Additional songs may include “I think I’m Gonna Like it Here”, “You Won’t Be An Orphan For Long”, “I Don’t Need Anything But You” and “New Deal For Christmas.”


Cecille and Annette: Must be able to appear age 20-60, Female. Maids at Warbucks’ home. Sing and move well.

Drake: Must be able to appear 25-60, Male. Head butler in the Warbucks’ home. Also in ensemble. Sing and move well.

Mrs Greer: Must be able to appear 25-60, Female. Oliver Warbuck’s head housekeeper. Also in ensemble. Sing and move well.

Mrs Pugh: Must be able to appear 25-60, Female. Oliver Warbuck’s cook. Also in ensemble. Sing and move well.
