Spring 2019 Audition Announcement

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Strand’s summer junior show for 2019 will be Disney’s High School Musical, Jr.

AGES: Rising 8th through 12th grade. A max of 30 will be cast. There are also 6 production spots for those interested in learning about that side of the show process. (directing, stage managing, technical theatre, etc.)

AUDITION DATE: Tuesday, March 26th at 6pm

CALLBACKS: TBD

COST: $300. If you
sign up to audition by March 5th, you receive a discounted price of $250. Price includes 4 tickets to opening night. There will be a tuition deadline once cast. Scholarships are available. Contact education@strandmarietta.org for information on the
scholarship application process.

SHOW TICKETS: Tuition includes 4 tickets to opening night. Additional tickets are $10.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday, June 3 thru June 20 from 10am to 3pm. Tech week rehearsals may run longer.

SHOW DATES:
Friday, June 21 @ 8pm
Saturday, June 22 @ 8pm
Sunday, June 23 @ 3pm
Call is typically 2 hours prior. All cast members should expect to stay after the last show to help with striking.

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT: Parent or guardian involvement in a student’s education is a crucial part of that student’s success. Parents or guardians will be expected to volunteer at some point during the process. There will be an option to op out of volunteer participation for a $50 fee. A parent/guardian meeting will be scheduled after casting is complete for further information.

CAST AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Bring a headshot and
resume. The audition process will cover singing, acting, and dancing. You will need to prepare a song with an accompaniment track and monologue; each can be no longer than a minute for a total max of two minutes. You will be taught a dance combination at the audition. The dance audition will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Individual vocal and acting auditions will be immediately after and in the order of initial arrival.

PRODUCTION AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: If you are solely interested in learning about production (directing, stage managing, technical theatre, etc.) you will need to sign up for an interview, and will not need to
completethe cast audition. Tuition is the same.
