THE PLOT: Paul Zindel has written a fascinating play that almost defies definition by moving smoothly between serious ideas and comic personalities. Big shot sister Ceil wants sister Catherine to join with her in seeing sister Anna is institutionalized. But Catherine has no reason to aid Ceil, especially since Ceil married Catherine’s boyfriend. Anna knows something is up but is too fascinated by her own health to pay attention to those two. And besides, Anna thinks Catherine is the one who needs help, since she drinks too much anyway. Joined by the pushy neighbor upstairs and her husband, these women create an evening of improbable laughs, giving a whole new spin to the concept of sisterhood. (Adults and older teens)
