What to Prepare

One vocal selection of 30-60 seconds from a musical theatre song.

  • You must utilize an instrumental track without backing/guide vocals
  • Please keep your selections “student appropriate” (pg)

What to Expect

  • Small group setting for vocal/acting auditions
  • Large group setting for a simple movement/dance call

What to Bring

  • Your instrumental track on a mobile device.
  • Comfortable closed toe shoes.
  • Printed headshot (any size or quality).
  • Simple theatrical resume.
  • A list of all prior commitments and conflicts during the rehearsal period.

Not all actors will be called to every rehearsal, but please provide your availability for the entire rehearsal period.

Audition Tips from the Directors

  • We are not asking for a monologue, so please be sure to convey character and story through your vocal performance. To help you accomplish this, please be sure your lyrics are memorized.
  • When rehearsing your song prioritize these vocal elements in this order: 1 – Projection, 2 – articulation, 3 – pitch, and 4 – tone.
  • Bring your track in a downloaded digital format (mp3 or m4a) so you aren’t relying on an internet connection to stream YouTube, Spotify, etc.
  • All experience and ability levels welcome! Do not be afraid of singing or dancing! We will have a cast of actors with a wide range of abilities. Show us your best!
  • You may select any musical theatre song; but if you need help finding a song you can find audition-length cuts of material from the show at this link:
