Possum Point Players have scheduled auditions for the timeless American drama, “A Raisin in the Sun” on Monday, April 4, and Tuesday, April 5. Auditions are at 7 p.m. in Possum Hall both nights. Production dates are June 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19.
The ground-breaking play opened on Broadway in 1959 and was recently revived on Broadway. Audiences found gripping relevancy now as audiences did more than 50 years ago. The play calls for the following African American actors: four women, four men and a young boy. In addition, there is one white male actor required, and also, two non-speaking roles.
“Raisin in the Sun” is the story of a family facing life-altering decisions and conflict as their individual hopes and dreams pull them in different directions. This could be the story of an urban African American family today. For more information on the play and characters, see link on Possum Point Players face book page or contact director John Marino,
