A COLE PORTER CELEBRATION
VOCAL AUDITION NOTICE for Ages 17+
Sunday, January 19
Auditions starting at 6:00 pm
Arts United Center
Concert collaboration presented with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic at the Historic Embassy Theatre
Music & Lyrics by Cole Porter
Director – Phillip H. Colglazier
Music Director – Eunice Wadewitz
Conductor – Andrew Constantine
Fort Wayne Philharmonic
This musical revue is a winning mix of 30 tunes which all have that Cole Porter imprint: sophistication, urbane wit, and catchy, complex melodies. Some of the most clever, funny, and romantic songs ever written came from the brilliant mind of Cole Porter, setting the bar for style and grace. Night and Day, I Get a Kick Out of You, and Begin the Beguine are just a few of the songs that made the Indiana native a legend. In this tribute to the songwriter, local vocal talents are underscored by orchestral arrangements that bring elegance, tenderness, and pizzazz to Porter's best.
Director Phillip Colglazier and Musical Director Eunice Wadewitz seek a cast of 4 female singers and 4 male singers and a chorus of 20 to 26 singers. All vocalists must be of solo quality. Ages 17+

Please bring a list of all your conflicts – the fewer the better in order to be cast! It is very important that we have ALL CONFLICTS at the time of the audition.
We are seeking strong singers who can sing harmony. The chorus will serve as choral support on stage and up stage. Prepare and memorize one verse of an up-tempo song or ballad which shows off your voice quality, range, and personality. Standard Broadway show tunes are best. Be sure to bring sheet music (not just lyrics but actual piano music) in the correct key – do not expect the pianist to transpose your music on sight. Have all cuts or repetitions clearly marked. Place your music in a binder or tape the sheets together for the benefit of the accompanist.
Pianist is provided.
