Character Breakdown (ages ranges are flexible):
Violet Newstead: (Female, 40s-50s) A smart, efficient, & savvy office manager. She is strong & capable but feels undervalued. Mezzo-Soprano with strong belt.
Doralee Rhodes: (Female, 20s-30s) A secretary who is beautiful, bubbly, & misunderstood. Strong singer with a big belt voice.
Judy Bernly: (Female, 30s-40s) A meek housewife who evolves into a confident & empowered woman. Soprano with belt.
Franklin Hart Jr.: (Male, 40s-50s) The arrogant & lecherous CEO of Consolidated Industries. Baritone.
Roz Keith: (Female, 40s-50s) The office gossip with an unrequited love for Hart. Comedic role. Mezzo-Soprano with character voice.
Joe: (Male, 20s-30s) Charming & earnest accountant who has a crush on Violet. Tenor.
Dwayne: (Male, 20s-30s) Doralee’s supportive husband. Small role. Baritone.
Josh: (Male, Teens) Violet’s rebellious teenage son. Small role.
Dick: (Male, 30s-40s) Judy’s unfaithful ex-husband. Small role. Baritone.
Missy: (Female, 30s-40s) Hart’s clueless wife. Small role. Mezzo-Soprano.
Maria: (Female, 20s-30s) A young office worker. Mezzo-Soprano.
Ensemble: (Various Ages) Office workers, secretaries, & other characters. Strong singers and dancers.
Audition Requirements:
- Prepare a 32-bar vocal selection from 9 to 5: The Musical or a similar style musical.
- Use an accompanist or backing track. No a cappella submissions will be accepted.
- Complete the audition form & include any known conflicts with rehearsal or performance dates.
- Upload headshot, resume, & video audition.

- All roles are non-paid.
