Job Title: Auditions for 9 to 5 Job Start Date: 9/16/15 Job End Date: 11/15/15 Union Info: Non Union DESCRIPTION: Actors Conservatory Theatre celebrates its 41st year with 9 to 5 and is seeking non-union performers for all roles. Show requires performers have good dance/movement skills and great contemporary voices. The Actors Conservatory Theatre is a Westchester based non-profit organization which was founded in 1975. ACT has staged over 100 mainstage productions since then including comedies and dramas as well as musicals. Personnel: Director: Armand Paganelli Music Director: Stephen Ferri Other Dates: 1st Rehearsal: Week of Sept. 14th, 2015 Tech week: Nov 1st - Nov 4th Show Dates: Nov 5-8 & Nov 13-15 (7 performances) Venue: Actors Conservatory Theatre located in Yonkers NY (25 min from NYC) 20 Buckingham Road Yonkers NY Additional Information: Performances/Rehearsals will be held in Yonkers, NY 3-4 times a week. Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday’s from 7-10pm. Not everyone is called to every rehearsal and creative team is very conscious of the use of actors time. If traveling from NYC transportation will be provided from the Bronxville train station to/from the venue. CASTING BREAKDOWN Violet The company's Head Secretary and Mr. Hart's Administrative Assistant, she is a single mother and typically stands up for what she believes in. Attractive, strong, ambitious. Female, 40-50 yrs old Range: F3 - D5 Doralee A young, sexy spitfire who works at Mr. Hart's office. She is proof that there is more to a woman than just her looks. Female, 20-30 yrs old Range: G3 - E5 s Judy The "new" girl at the firm, she has been burned by her husband's affair and is searching for personal empowerment. Insecure, determined, and hopeful. Female, 25-35 yrs old Range: Ab3 - F5 (belt) Franklin Hart One of the firm's executives and a notorious chauvinist. He is capable of faking charm but usually shows his true colors as an arrogant, self-absorbed boss. Male, 45-50 yrs old Range: C3 - Gb4 Roz Keith The attentive office gossip queen and snitch. She has an unrequited love for Mr. Hart and will do anything she can to win his approval. Female, 35-45 yrs old Range: G3 - C5 Joe A handsome, young office accountant. Genuine and nice, and smitten with Violet. Male, 25-35 yrs old Range: B2 - G4 Dwayne Kathy Doralee's attractive husband. He is very supportive of her professional pursuits. Male, 25-30 yrs old Range: E2 - G4 A secretary in Hart's office with a tendency to gossip. Female, 30-40 yrs old Range: G4 - D5 ENSEMBLE: Seeking strong singers and dancers. Some of the feature roles in the show will be pulled from the ensemble. SPEAKING ROLES: (ideally singing in group numbers) Josh Violet's awkward teenage son. Male, 15-18 yrs old Speaking Role Missy Franklin Hart's wife, clueless to her husband's true nature. Female, 20-35 yrs old Speaking Role Maria A young and vibrant secretary in Hart's office. Female, 20-30 yrs old Range: F4 - D5 Dick Judy's soon-to-be ex-husband. An average guy, he is sporting a little less hair and a little more paunch than he did ten years ago. Male, 35-45 yrs old Speaking Role Margaret A secretary in Hart's office with a tendency to drink. Female, 30-40 yrs old Speaking Role Tinsworthy Franklin Hart's boss and Chariman of the Board. Be sure to include your name, date of preferred audition and time slot you would like. ---------------------------------- When: Auditions (by appointment only) Tuesday September 8th from 12-4pm at CAP 21 Wednesday September 9th from 6-10pm in Yonkers at ACT Final Auditions/Callbacks: Monday September 14th 6:00pm Auditions, 7pm Callbacks/Dance call *Please note we will accept video submission from actors who can not attend the audition dates above.Those who attend in person will be given priority for roles. A video of you singing from the show is preferred but not required. If you can not prepare a song from the show a song in the style of the show is acceptable but not preferred. Sheet music from the show will be available at the audition if needed, but if you have a specific cut please bring sheet music in the correct key and marked. A piano accompanist will be provided but will not transpose. Charts are NOT acceptable, NO cd’s and NO unaccompanied singing. -Please bring a headshot/resume stapled together
