The Ultimate Search Theater Company is holding auditions for its inaugural production of 35mm: A Musical Exhibition by Ryan Scott Oliver.
Show Description: A picture is worth 1,000 words — what about a song? Can a picture inspire a song or fifteen? In 35mm, each photo creates an unique song, moments frozen in time; a glimmer of a life unfolding, a glimpse of something happening. A stunning new multimedia musical which explores a groundbreaking new concept in musical theatre... This intricately woven collection of stories told through song re-imagines what the modern American musical can be.
We will be seeking 10 singers/dancers/actors to fill 10 roles. Unlike the original production there will be six (6) "soloists" and four (4) "chorus roles" (1 Soprano, 1 Alto, 1 Tenor, and 1 Bass) . The ranges for each part and the songs each "soloist" sings as well as the "chorus members" will be pinned to the Facebook event page(https://www.facebook.com/events/220073091684758/). This is a non-union, non-paid show.
Auditions will be Monday, May 16th and Tuesday May 17th. You only need to ONE audition day NOT both. Come prepared with 16-32 bars of a contemporary musical theater song in a style of the show. Singing from the show is acceptable and encouraged. An accompanist will be provided so please have clearly marked sheet music in the correct key. NO CD/ a Capella auditions allowed.
Callbacks will be held as needed on Wednesday May 18th at 7pm and more information will be sent out after all first round auditions have been seen.
Rehearsals will be held on the weekdays in the evenings with conflicts honored. The show is July 15th and 16th with three performances total.
