About the Play…

The play is set in an old abandoned tavern on Great Island in Wellfleet. Once a year during a full moon in October, the lost and forgotten souls of Cape Cod come out of the shadows and share their tales. The tales are a collection of original stories - mysterious and haunting - of the supernatural world of Cape Code. It’s the perfect Halloween outing for adults with a taste for the macabre.

About the Playwright/Director…

Jim Dalglish is an award-winning playwright and director who has produced three world premieres of his plays at CCftA - Bark Park, Unsafe, and last year’s Lines in the Sand. All three have won or been nominated for awards. Unsafe was nominated for three Independent Reviewers of New England awards in 2016. Lines in the Sand was nominated for three awards and one two acting awards at the 2017 International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival in Dublin, Ireland.

Roles…

Sam - A bartender you would naturally tell your deepest, darkest secrets. (30s - 50s)

Fisherman - An old salt who has seen everything and knows everyone. (60s - 70s)

Maria - A good-humored woman and natural storyteller. (30s - 50s))

Bicyclist - An artist who works as a cater waiter to support his artistic endeavors (20s - 50s)

May - A young woman who feels trapped. She’d give anything to break out of her rut and see the world. (20s)

Elliot - A fledging architect and devoted father. This is his first family vacation on the Cape (30s - 40s)

Dale - A free spirit who “roughs” it on the Cape every summer to earn enough money to survive the winter. (20s - 40s)

Woman - The wife of a hedge fund manager. She owns homes in Nantucket and Greenwich. She’s working to get her foundation off the ground (30s - 50s)

Scripts / Sides…

The director will provide the scripts to actors once the sessions have been scheduled. (This is a mysterious play and the playwright would like to keep the script a secret until it is performed.)
