A CLASSIC THEATRE AUDITIONS FOR “1984”
Auditions are scheduled for ACT’s first production of the 2018-2019 season, the iconic 1984 adapted by Robert Owens, Wilton E. Hall, Jr., and William A. Miles, Jr.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30pm and Saturday, September 8 at 2:00pm at Unit #105 in the Portman Plaza, 2085 A1A South, St. Augustine.

The production will have six performances on October 26 – November 4, 2018 at the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center. Rehearsals to begin immediately upon completion of casting.
Director Margaret Kaler will have actors read scenes from the script. If you have a prepared short monologue, you will be heard.
Seeking 8-10 actors, some of whom will play multiple parts.
WINSTON: 20’s-30’s. Intelligent young man, who disagrees with the current regime.
O’BRIEN: 30’s-40’s. Male. Coarse, humorous, brutal Party member.
SYME: Male or Female. Timid, scholarly, self-effacing Party member.
JULIA: 20’s. Attractive young woman with dual persona. Party member.
PARSONS: 40’s-50’s. Female. Jovial but unpleasant looking; member of Anti-Sex League.
LANDLADY: 50’s-60’s Unkempt old woman, one of the “proles.”
GLADYS: Able to play young teenager. Member of the children’s Spies.
OTHER ROLES: Messengers and Coffee Vendor (teenage girls)
