The Players Guild of Leonia
The Players Guild of Leonia announces auditions for it's 12th Annual Playwrights Showcase. The showcase features new one act plays written by local playwrights. This Players Guild exclusive has become one of our most popular offerings. Auditions will be held on three evenings at the Civil War Drill Hall Theater, 130 Grand Avenue in Leonia on Sunday, May 5th, Monday, May 6th and Wednesday, May 8th at 7:30PM. Performances are June 28th thru June 30th - Friday & Saturday at 8PM, Sunday at 3PM at The Players Guild of Leonia Civil War Drill Hall Theater.

The five short plays and their characters are: A Lot of Hair by Arie Moller (directed by Angela Cozzi) … A mother and father in their 60s …. two men (30-40) … one woman (30-40) The Answer by Cary Pepper (directed by Linda Wielkotz) … an old monk, a thin monk, a portly monk, and a young novice (either they all will be played by men or all will be played by women) Abe and Ed by Tom Tunnington (directed by Vince Parrillo) … Ed (about 40, in wheelchair) … Abe (about 55-60, Orthodox Jew with slight accent) … Irma (mid 50s; she’s been Ed’s aide for fourteen years) The Coup by Kathleen Clark (directed by Helene Marshall) … two women, both over 60 The Mall Session by D.A. Arnold (directed by Dori Persson) … one woman (45-65) … one man (45-65) … two teenagers (boys or girls)
