Let yourself be transported into a world of swooning six-metre high puppets, acrobats, singers and a little dog who may very well steal the show.
Commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company for the 2012 World Shakespeare Festival, Russian director Dmitry Krymov’s inventive take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream casts the main characters aside. This allows Krymov to focus on what he considers to be the play’s essence: bumbling amateur acting troupe The Mechanicals and their humorous yet heartfelt rendition of the tragic tale of Pyramus and Thisbe. This magical comedy is a Dream for dreamers aged ten to 100.
