Due to overwhelming demand, smash New Zealand comedy THE MOTOR CAMP has had additional performances added at The Court Theatre. THE MOTOR CAMP by Dave Armstrong, based on a story by Danny Mulheron, is directed by Tim Bartlett. Armstrong's play about mismatched neighbours at a caravan park has been a runaway hit, with 14,500 tickets sold in a month.
The show features Stephen Papps, Jill Roberts, Phoebe McKellar, Tom Trevella, Juanita Hepi and Tola Newbery. Jo Bunce is stage manager, Nigel Kerr is set designer, Joe Hayes is lighting designer, Sean Hawkins is sound designer, Pauline Laws and Pam Jones are costume designers, Anneke Bester designs props and Mandy Perry is production manager.
Artistic Director of The Court Theatre Ross Gumbley is delighted with the response to the "100 percent pure Kiwi Comedy."
"It's a testament to Armstrong's script, the performances by the cast and the hard work by the whole team behind this show that THE MOTOR CAMP has been such a success," Gumbley says. "Audiences relish this warts-and-all portrayal of everyday New Zealanders."THE MOTOR CAMP must close on 11 August. Tickets for the final performances are now on sale at The Court Theatre Box Office.
