The iTICKET Night at the Races will mark the start of the conference at The Wanganui Function Centre, 21 Purnell Street, overlooking the Racecourse. Dress for the races or just wear your poshest hat.
AGM Opening Speaker will be the highly regarded New Zealand playwright/actress and fabulous April Phillips (STiFF and Death and Taxes – with the latter enjoying sell out seasons with our MTNZ societies).
Karen Stephens from Kestrel Group will talk to the AGM and also run a forum on disaster recovery for societies and companies. She is not to be missed. Both April and Karen will be running forums and seminars. Grant Gilbert, President of ETNZ, will also address the AGM updating MTNZ members on the technical side of our industry.
Saturday Night: The Origin Theatrical & John Herber Showboat Moonshine and Whisky Hour with grits and cornbread, accompanied by old Dixieland jazz in the grand saloon of a Mississippi Showboat (just to clarify for those with no sea legs - there is no actual boat J) … followed by dinner and dancing the night away.
Come dressed from Showboat, which is widely considered one of the most influential works of the American musical theatre or come as one of the colourful characters from the Mississippi shores of the 1880s or from Big River – based on the story of Huck Finn, or our own River Queen ..... onsite at the Wanganui Function Centre, 21 Purnell Street
