LOVE LETTER TO NICK CAVE Announced At Auckland Arts Festival In March Image

The Irish-French singer and storyteller-in-song Camille O'Sullivan will return to New Zealand as part of the 2019 Auckland Arts Festival in March with Cave, a new show devoted entirely to the music of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds.

O'Sullivan tours the world interpreting, with her powerful voice and intoxicating charisma, the dark and bittersweet narrative songs of artists, including Tom Waits, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Radiohead and Kurt Weill, among others.

In this stunning new show, Camille explores the dark and light of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds music. In her dangerous yet fragile theatrical style, Camille embarks on a personal discovery of a man of many guises; violent, beautiful, logical, crazy, devout, troubled and religious.

An award-winning singer and actor who was once referred to as the 'Queen of the Edinburgh Fringe' by the BBC, O'Sullivan was inspired to create the show after gathering worldwide acclaim for her rendition of the tender ballad The Ship Song.

A favourite of Yoko Ono, Jools Holland and Auckland concert-goers alike, O'Sullivan has seduced audiences around the world with her sultry, spellbinding performances of statement-making music.

In 2015, Camille won the Australian Helpmann Award for her Sydney Festival shows and a 'Best Music' Argus Award at The Brighton Festival. She has previously won best music awards at Dublin and Melbourne Festivals and a Spirit of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She was once named Irish Tatler's Woman of the Year in Music and performed the songs of Radiohead with a 40-piece orchestra at the 2015 Wilderness Festival in the UK to great acclaim.

Since her New Zealand debut in the raucous cabaret-circus La Clique in 2009, Camille's interpretations of narrative songs have built her a strong following.

O'Sullivan's self-proclaimed love-letter to Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Cave is a passionate, unique interpretation of brilliant music which will Raise the Roof of the mighty Civic for one night only on 13 March 2019
