Rivertown Theaters presents Hairspray, a vibrant musical set in 1962 Baltimore, focused on Tracy Turnblad, a plus-size teen with dreams of dancing on the Corny Collins Show. As Tracy rises from outcast to star, she faces challenges that include dethroning the current Teen Queen and promoting racial integration on television, all while keeping her iconic hairstyle intact. The production features Carli Collis-Naquin as Tracy, along with a talented cast including Tara Shay Montgomery and Garrin Mesa. Directed by Kelly Fouchi, this family-friendly show highlights themes of self-acceptance and social change through catchy tunes and lively choreography.
