New York based actor/filmmaker Blayne Weaver has been the voice of Disney Animation's iconic Peter Pan since the 2002 feature film "Return To Never Land" and will now portray the role of Captain Black Stache in the Stage Center production of "Peter And The Starcatcher".

"After years of playing Peter Pan for Disney, it's so amazing to portray Pan's mortal enemy. I love the synchronicity of it. I learned so much working with acclaimed actor Corey Burton who plays the character of Hook for Disney. It's a lot of fun chewing the scenery and I'm so happy to do such an amazing show." Says Weaver.

Weaver is best known for starring in the films "6 Month Rule", "Favor" and the recently released "Cut To The Chase". He is repped by Dulcina Eisen Associates in New York and Imperium-7 Agency in Los Angeles. He returns to his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana for the production in late June.

Stage Center's sixth mainstage season continues when tickets go on sale Monday, June 5 for Peter and the Starcatcher, a new play by Rick Elice, starring Blayne Weaver, with original music by Wayne Barker. Jared Watson will direct the production, while Seth Taylor serves as musical director. Memberships, FLEXTIX, and FLEXPLANS are still available for the entire season.

Based on the best-selling novels, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER is the "absurdly funny, fantastical story" (Entertainment Weekly) that upends the century-old tale of how a miserable orphan boy becomes the legendary Peter Pan. In this 5 time Tony®-winning play, a dozen brilliant actors play more than 100 unforgettable characters using their enormous talent, ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination. This swashbuckling grownup prequel to Peter Pan will have you hooked from the moment you let your imagination take flight.

In addition to Mr. Weaver as Black Stache, appearing courtesy of, and by special arrangement with Actor's Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers, the production stars Jesse Kortus as Boy and Tova Volcheck as Molly, our title characters. Rounding out the company are Samuel Copeland (Bill Slank/Hawking Clam), Luke Digilormo (Smee), Cameron Hughes (Alf), Daniel Salazar (Prentiss), Jason Shidiskis (Lord Leonard Aster), Cody Snider (Captain Robert Falcon Scott), Nolan Tomasek (Ted), Benjamin Williamson (Grempkin/Fighting Prawn) and featuring John Bogan as Mrs. Bumbrake/Teacher.
