Widely regarded as Shakespeare's smartest comedy, 'As You Like It' as presented by The NOLA Project will be presented amongst the natural settings of NOMA's Besthoff Sculpture Garden, opening on May 9th.

"We have been itching to get back into the Besthoff Sculpture Garden since last year during 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and we are thrilled to bring a brand new Shakespeare classic to life for audiences again this spring! I am particularly pleased to welcome back company member Kathlyn Carson all the way from Hong Kong to play Rosalind, Shakespeare's smartest heroine." Said Artistic Director A.J. Allegra

Shakespeare's 'As You Like It' pairs perfect lovers who, both banished, seek refuge where they meet in the Forest of Arden. Only one complication prevents their love from flourishing: the lovesick Rosalind is disguised as a man! As she teaches Orlando how to woo a woman her frustration yields to high comedy in this tale of cross-dressing, mistaken identity, and love, filled with poetry, song, slapstick humor, and shrewd observations about human nature.

The NOLA Project, which has produced 'The Cripple of Inishmaan' and “Midsummers Night Dream’ return once again to NOMA’s Besthoff Sculpture Garden with a famed comedy. Featuring the talents of James Bartelle, Natalie Boyd, Kathlyn Carson, Keith Claverie, Mike Harkins, Clint Johnson, Kate Kuen, Michael Krikorian, Jason Kirkpatrick, Michael Aaron Santos, Kris Shaw, Michael Sullivan, Alex Martinez Wallace, Kristin Witterschein, and Jim Wright Directed by Sam Dudley.

Performances will be May 9th, 10th, 13th, 16th, 17th, 18th, and 20th. All performances will begin at 7 pm. Tickets are $16, and $8 for students, NOMA members and children under 17. Tickets will be available online and at the Admissions Desk of the Museum starting Monday, April 2nd.
