YOU NEVER KNOW WHO'S LISTENING, warns playwright Steve Yockey... Southern Rep continues its 24th Season with the thrilling World Premiere of AFTERLIFE: A GHOST STORY by Steve Yockey. A ghost story in the most literal sense, AFTERLIFE follows a grieving couple as they prepare their beachfront home for an impending storm. What ensues is a frighteningly haunting tale - not for the faint of heart. This production will make you jump in your seat with its unexpected twists and turns!

Aimée Hayes zealously championed afterlife: a ghost story from early on, providing remarkable insight and committing time & resources to development. So this production is the culmination of a truly inspiring collaboration and I'm honored to have the initial leg of this National New Play Network rolling world premiere at Southern Rep.
- Steve Yockey, Playwright

The local all-star cast features Lucy Faust, Michael Aaron Santos, John Neisler, Troi Bechet, Lisa Picone and Andrew Farrier.  Lucy Faust debuted on the Southern Rep stage this fall in In the Next Room (or the vibrator play) as the breathtaking Mrs. Daldry. Michael Aaron Santos also recently trod the boards at Southern Rep last spring in The Piano Teacher and was a 2009 Big Easy Award winner.  The cast includes local favorites, including the phenomenal Troi Bechet (most recently from Swimming Upstream) and 2009 Big Easy Award winner Lisa Picone, as well as John Neisler (last seen at Southern Rep in OPUS) and Andrew Farrier (recently in THE WOMAN OF CHAILLOT and SICK at Southern Rep).

The play is truly scary. It's a thriller! - Aimée Hayes, Artistic Director

Afterlife: a ghost story is the first of three productions that will make up the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere (like previous Southern Rep productions of FOR BETTER, SICK and SHOTGUN).  This NNPN Rolling World Premiere will continue with productions at New Repertory Theatre in Boston and Edgemar Performing Arts Center in Santa Monica, California.
