Start your Halloween festivities with a frightening and funny double feature from Southern Rep @ Le Chat Noir with GOODNIGHT by Steve Yockey and Ross Maxwell and THE ISLAND OF DR. FITZMORRIS by Jim Fitzmorris. Then in November, Southern Rep @ Le Chat Noir presents a regional premiere, the hilarious Off Broadway hit comedy, LOVE CHILD by Daniel Jenkins and Robert Stanton, starring Bob Edes, Jr. and Brian Peterson.

HALLOWEEN DOUBLE FEATURE - TWO PLAYS FOR JUST $25! On October 29th and 30th ONLY at 7:30 pm, Southern Rep @ Le Chat Noir brings two brand new plays to the stage: GOODNIGHT by Steve Yockey and Ross Maxwell is a darkly comedic fistful of short plays, made of equal parts treat and trickery, set in the shadowy hours between dusk and daybreak. But be forewarned: while these deliciously sinister tales disarm you with laughter, perhaps the laughter is meant to lull you into becoming vulnerable, there in the dark cabaret on a cold October night... The GOODNIGHT cast includes Aimée Hayes, Sean Glazebrook, Robin Baudier, James Bartelle, Rebecca Chapman and Matt Standley. THE ISLAND OF DR. FITZMORRIS by Jim Fitzmorris has you spending your Halloween weekend with Monologic Mad Scientist Jim Fitzmorris in the scariest time all ... the 1970s. Buckets of brains, riders without seatbelts, evil ventriloquist dummies, and Supertramp 8 tracks populate an island where the sun goes down early and the games linger late... Tickets are just $25 for the double feature, and the drinks are the best in town!

Writing GoodNight felt like total license to just indulge deeply in one of my favorite cross-genre territories: horror and comedy, where the deadpan and the awful, meets the ridiculous and silly. Both Steve and I are huge fans of this tone and style. We get a kick out of it. Being able to work with Aimée and Southern Rep just in time for Halloween in New Orleans-- it's just about the best combination imaginable. - Ross Maxwell, Playwright

LOVE CHILD directed by Mark Routhier, begins November 4th and runs through November 21st. This dysfunctional family comedy is sure to warm you up when the weather turns cooler because you'll be falling out of your seat with laughter. Local legends Bob Edes, Jr and Brian Peterson are the perfect antidote to the holiday crunch and stress you may be experiencing. Joel, who as a child put on Greek tragedies with sock puppets for his 'parents,' now runs a theatre company, Word Up, and is mounting a ridiculous theatrical production of a Greek tragedy. In this play, that the New York Times called "a delicious romp," Bob Edes, Jr and Brian Peterson play all the eccentric characters backstage, on stage, and in the audience, as they navigate Joel's life, his quest to know his real family, the play, and the play within the play, and the play within that play's play. Life and Art: who's imitating who?

Bob Edes Jr. and Brian Peterson had me laughing though tears at the first read-thru, as they began to find the nine or so characters they each play. These two incredibly talented actors in this wacky comedy about the family we make and the family we discover will have people rolling on the floor with laughter and just possibly shedding a tear into their drink! - Mark Routhier, Associate Artistic Director
